Protect Your Rights As A Grandparent

As a grandparent, you absolutely want the best for your child and their children. You have nothing but the best intentions and you care. That doesn’t always mean results. Sometimes when you see someone you love suffering, you need to act.

Williamson Law Firm, PLLC can provide the detailed guidance on how to best succeed in this action. For over 25 years, we have helped Texas grandparents advocate for their rights and receive access to their grandchildren.

What Rights Do Grandparents Have In Texas?

Every state in the U.S. has different laws when it comes to grandparents’ rights. In Texas, it is very difficult for grandparents to gain access to or possession of their grandchildren. Generally, courts will not grant custody or visitation rights unless:

  • At least one parent is incarcerated
  • At least one parent does not live with the child
  • The court has terminated parental rights and the grandparents are considering adoption
  • The child has lived with the grandparent for at least six months
  • At least one parent is deceased

We Will Do Everything Possible For Your Grandchildren

Although the odds may seem slim, Williamson Law Firm, PLLC has achieved favorable outcomes for countless grandparents. Sometimes, when you get a family law attorney involved, it shows the parties involved that you are serious about spending time with your grandchildren. We will pursue every avenue to the very end if it means getting you even five minutes’ more time with your grandchildren.
